On another front, Osman Bey ordered his eldest son Orhan Bey to gather the flagless people stationed on the border. Orhan Bey met with the flagless and extended an offer from Osman Bey. The flagless, seeking proof of Orhan Bey's bravery, challenged him, leading to a confrontation between Orhan Bey and the flagless during an attack on a convoy from Konashtontipol.
During the attack, it was revealed that Hatun Holofera, known to Orhan Bey since his youth, was in one of the convoy's cars. However, the flagless took Holofera hostage. Concurrently, Yakup Bey gathered all the Vedas to garner support for his cause. As part of a conspiracy, Yaqub Bey sent a merchant to inform Usman Bey that Cherkutai was imprisoned in a Lefk prison, as Cherkutai had been missing for a significant period.
Usman Bey ventured to Lefke with a gold coin to rescue Cherkutai but fell into a trap and was imprisoned. Yaqub Bey, along with several others, attempted to rescue Usman Bey and proposed that he pledge allegiance to Yaqub Bey, but Usman Bey staunchly refused.
